It’s a combination-tanned leather, meaning it undergoes both chrome tanning and vegetable retanning. The chrome tanning process gives it softness and durability, while the vegetable retanning—using a proprietary blend of bark extracts—adds fullness, enhances patina potential, and contributes to its distinctive feel. What sets Chromexcel apart is its "hot-stuffing" process, where the leather is infused with a secret blend of natural oils, waxes, and greases (including food-grade beef tallow and cosmetic-grade beeswax).
